Of all the cattle breeds, Texas Longhorns have the longest horns. They can already be seen appearing three weeks after birth. The horns grow on the side of the head and curve slightly at the tips. By the age of one, the bulls' horns have already reached about half their final length.

A Texas Longhorn bull reaches full size at four years of age and weighs between 1,500 and 2,200 pounds.
