When they are born, the lion cubs have a sandy-coloured coat and darker round spots. They are therefore perfectly camouflaged in the savannah. For 4 to 6 weeks after birth, they remain in a hiding place. At the age of 3 months, they are strong enough to follow their mother everywhere.
Fun fact: Young lions learn to roar from the age of one year.
