As in nature, the young killer whale from Schleich® Wild Life is recognizable by its black and white colors.
The orca is also called the killer whale because of its sword-like dorsal fin. Thanks to their distinct colors, killer whales are easily recognized from other whales: while the back is jet black, the belly is covered in bright white, just like the young orca from Schleich® Wild Life. Only a few months after their birth, the cubs already begin to hunt fish, marine mammals and seabirds.
Fun facts:
At birth, a young killer whale's belly is initially cream or apricot in color.
